As the house was too large for our own needs, during extensive renovations we divided it into four units, one for ourselves and the rest for those friends who liked to spend some time with us. Over time, each has acquired the name of its most frequent visitors. The property has now become Locanda Bandini and is open to new guests. No more than eight at a time, so that everyone will have the space, time and leisure to get to know this special place, to fully enjoy staying here, and to receive our time and attention, as required. Locanda Bandini is not a hotel. If you are the right kind of people, and this is the right place for you, it will become your home. You'll be amazed at how quickly this will happen. And when it does, it will be in large part due to yourselves. This is not a hotel, it's a place where we live as one lived in the past, with the peace, attention and habits of another age, because we are all guests here. Locanda Bandini was built over a period of 250 years, by adding a room at a time: our role is to preserve its period details and share them with those who come to visit. As was the case in the past, there is always someone here to welcome guests and attend to their needs, someone in the kitchen experimenting with new food and recipes and often someone arriving and bringing in something new to try out. If you wish to dine in without cooking, a good quality, reliable catering service is available, at reasonable cost and offering flexible options. Locanda Bandini is not a hotel and neither is it a club. If you want to be alone and fend for yourselves, no-one will object: we are more than happy to oblige if you require our services, but our discretion is guaranteed. Hours are flexible here: on arrival there will always be someone to greet you with a bottle of wine; on departure, someone to bid you farewell with a bottle of olive oil. At an altitude of 450m, the house sits on a hill which slopes down to the shores of lake Trasimeno and lake Chiusi. Between ourselves and the lakes there is nothing to spoil the view. Beyond Trasimeno lie the Appennines, Cortona and Sansepolcro.
